Abstract
Specialist in Italian philosophy and disciple of Emmanuelle Severino, the author gives extensive details about the Gentile oggi, Congress, held in Rome on 23 October, 2017 and whose proceedings were pub-lished in 2019. This is how the author traces the trail left in current thought by the neo-idealistic philoso-phy of Giovani Gentile (1875-1944), who identified pedagogy with philosophy. The author looks at the contributions of the followers of Gentile's philosophy, especially Rodolfo Sideri and Hervé A. Cavallera. In the first part, a philosophical speculation is made on Gentile’s philosophy. Giovani Gentile promoted the educational reform (1923) and that of the Italian Encyclopaedia, in dialogue with different thinkers and specialists. In the second part, the author refers to pedagogy and practice training from a neo-idealistic perspective (Cavallera), with references to the current education situation. Finally, the author offers us, in an appendix, a selection of pedagogical texts by different authors (Gentile, Castoriadis, Gobetti) to illus-trate the path outlined by the philosophy of education in recent decades.
