El paper de l’artista en l’art medieval / The role of the artist in medieval art
Carles Mancho
Although since the eighteenth century the term “artist” has referred to the creator of a “work of art”, art historians have difficulty in defining this concept in the context of the Mediaeval period. Carles Mancho shows that the creator and the work maintained a more multifaceted relationship in the Middle Ages, often very close to the relationship we find between contemporary artists and art than in the modern era.
