ROBERT A. ROSENSTONE (Ph. D.). Professor of History at the California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, USA), he spent two decades writing history on the page before becoming interested in history on the screen.
Author of many article and books, incluiding the award-winning Romantic Revolutionary: A Biography of John Reed (which became the basis of the motion picture Reds, 1981, dir. Warren Beatty), he was asked to create a film section for the American Historical Review (1989-1994).
His most recent publications are Revisioning History: Film and the Construction of a New Past (editor), and Visions of the Past: The Challenge of Film to Our Idea of History (Harvard University Press, 1995).
